Migrant women attending English classes in Dublin as part of the WEMIN project were asked what attending the classes meant to them. Here is what they said.
“The English class is a great opportunity not to be isolated in the new environment and connect with people, who are exactly in the same situation with you. It is easier to solve our problems together.
I really enjoy to be a member of our multinational group and discover traditions and cultural aspects that I was not familiar with before.” Anna, WEMIN Dublin
I joined Rafika's Conversation Classes last Autumn. As a migrant woman I am really happy that I can practice my English skills free and meet other migrant women. As a rule we choose a topic and then discuss it. It helps me to increase my vocabulary, train my listening skills and discover new customs and cultures. We also discuss different situations and Ireland's rules that helps us to stay here more comfortable. Thank you for these classes!” Ala M. WEMIN Dublin
“I have been in English class for a few months. I learned a lot of new things and I feel my English has relatively improved. For first time I could call my daughter's school ,it was so interesting. Also i met a number of ladies from another countries with different cultures ,and I’m so happy about that.” Narges, WEMIN Dublin
