On 20 September, ALDA hosted in Strasbourg the first dissemination event of the project WEMIN (Migrant Women Empowerment and Integration), which is a two-year project funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Union.
A dozen women from every corner of the world (Moldova, Georgia, Afghanistan, Algeria, Iran, Angola, Turkey, France and Spain) got together to celebrate the beginning of the project. They are some of the more than 40 women that will take part at the sociolinguistic courses offered in the framework of the project. They will also benefit from future activities such as the mentoring and empowerment sessions or the artistic workshops alongside women from the local community.
ALDA staff presented the project: its aim, the planned activities and the ways in which the women can engage. These migrant and refugee women have recently arrived to France, therefore they will benefit from the project to get actively integrated in Strasbourg. After the presentation, everyone got together to have a coffee break, while getting to know each other.
