As part of the workshops “Saturdays in Construction”, MRW who participated had the opportunity to share a workshop morning and a lunch with a group of volunteers from Banco Montepio.
The pieces for the decoration of Arraial were presented to the volunteers by their authors and they taught how to bring to life the elements that constituted them: flags made from used plastic bags and flowers made from tetra pack packaging. The volunteers also learned to make origami with Sandra, a Brazilian woman, 3rd generation of Japanese in Brazil.
The final result was fantastic, everyone gave wings to the imagination and the pieces were even more beautiful! This initiative took place on 24 May and involved around 25 women: 7 third-country nationals, 2 European and 16 Portuguese.
