People who are new to a country need support and guidance. But this takes time, courage and strength. Not everything you see, hear and read in a new country seems logical. Much is still unfamiliar and sometimes there is a lack of self-confidence as to whether everything can really be done and will be good.
In special empowerment workshops, migrant and refugee women were encouraged to make their own decisions, to trust personal talents and skills and to develop them further. For this purpose, small groups were formed in which the women could help and encourage each other under professional guidance.
Social and cultural engagement and participation in clubs, groups and institutions in the Stuttgart region were particularly encouraged. The involvement in decision-making processes allowed women to be directly involved in decisions that affect them and their lives. One result of the empowerment workshops is that several women are now official and permanent members of committees and committees in the Stuttgart region.
