Southside Partnership organise information session on the European Union as part of WEMIN

“What is the Eastern most country in the EU?”

“How many member states are currently in the EU?”

These were some of the questions given in the table quiz that was held as part of an Empowerment session on the European Union organised as part of the WEMIN project. Given the fact that the European elections are fast approaching, Southside Partnership felt it would be important to provide information on the European Union and how it works. The event was held in a local community centre on the 1^st May, a speaker who was very involved in the EU citizen’s assembly gave a talk on the structure of the EU, there was a question and answer session and a table quiz was held with six groups competing with each to show off their knowledge on Europe and the Union. The participants included women from Ireland, from the EU and from outside the EU. Who won the table quiz? A group of four women: one from Italy, one from Russia, one from Morocco and one from Ireland.
