For the Associação Renovar a Mouraria, Wemin played a very important role in the organization's community intervention strategy, as it allowed us to structure work with migrant women who have specific needs within the large group that is the local migrant community.
We highlight two activities that were structuring for our intervention, not only within the scope of the project, but also from a perspective of continuity: the intercultural breakfasts and the workshops of Arts, Crafts and Culture.
Both promote interaction between women from the host community and migrant women and, although it is a great challenge to promote these meetings given the incompatibilities of daily and daily routines of both groups, it is in the informal moments of sharing culture, talk, exchange in a more relax way, that we witness true changes and the construction of new social relationships and friendships, which last beyond the activity and the project. There is a real impact on participants' lives.
These two action methodologies will integrate our organization's future activities plan.
In Lisbon, during the two years of intervention we involved around 160 women, 45 from the host community and 115 MRW, mainly from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Brazil.
