A new WEMIN training cycle has been launched in Athens, Greece. More precisely, twenty-three migrant and refugee women participate actively in this second round of training, showing that the awareness about WEMIN project has led to increasingly higher number of MRW being involved. The training cycle started in mid May and is expected to finish by the end of July. Until then, the MRW will acquire knowledge and skills so that to develop the basic Greek vocabulary, and to gain the ability to read simple sentences in Greek and to respond to main communication exchanges with local people.
The established networking with related NGOs and local stakeholders provides a favorable ground for collaboration activities, as expected. More precisely, HOU-DAISSy Research Group and Olympic Training Ltd have made bonds with the Open Accomodation Centre of Elaionas refugee campus in Attica and so, the premises of the Educational Centre of ELIX NGO serves as the venue where training takes place.
Furthermore, through NOSTOS NGO which is also networked with WEMIN project, HOU-DAISSy Research Group and Olympic Training Ltd provided information material to MRW about the content of WEMIN actions as well as awareness about the benefits of getting actively involved. This flexible way of management was selected by the two organizations, in order to enhance the participation of MRW and favor their commitment.
HOU-DAISSy Research Group and Olympic Training Ltd are thankful to the networked stakeholders and intend to maintain the cooperation bonds active and firm.
