This seminar was delivered by Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr, a Portuguese NGO, within the framework of the European project CivAct.
Held on November 9th, it brought together civil society organizations, migrants, representatives of Portuguese public institutions and Portuguese MEPs, around the need to reduce the gap between European citizens and European institutions, that has been growing in the past years. To ensure that European values of human dignity, freedom, democracy and human rights, pillars of the European project are not threatened by populist discourse, it is imperative to promote European citizenship and to improve the conditions for civic and democratic participation at Union level.
Renovar a Mouraria had the opportunity to present WEMIN project in general, and the short guide for policy-makers in particular.
